Retaining top talent

I’ve got bad news for you…your top talent is going to leave your organisation and it could be today.

Okay, you might think stop being dramatic or, you may think ‘well I’m amazing and my organisation is amazing so, why would anyone even consider leaving’.

Well, here is why they will leave:

  • They have no idea what their future looks like in your business.

  • Your remuneration and benefits package simply isn’t competitive.

  • Training, both internal and external, is non-existent.

  • They are bored.

  • Feel ignored.

  • They don’t feel supported.

  • There is a toxic culture or, you have a toxic manager in your organisation.

  • Departments are over-stretched due to being under resourced.

It is likely most of my connections will either have experienced some if not, all the above, in their careers or, had someone leave their organisation because of the reasons above.

Business leaders, what is even worse is that you don’t even know why they left or, don’t care.

Your people are your business and without top talent you will not grow or continue to be successful. Other organisations will take of this for you if you don’t.

Really great talent can be easy to retain but in a competitive market even harder to find or, replace.
